Acupuncture
Acupuncture is therapy from Traditional Chinese Medicine, dating back thousands of years and recently an area of scientific investigation and integration with Western Medicine. Thin needles are placed in specific points throughout the body that stimulate “qi” (oxygen, blood flow, immune cells, and endorphins) which catalyzes the body's own healing capacity.
Acupuncture has the ability to penetrate to the deeper layers, beyond the stories the mind tells, into the truth of our somatic experience and stimulate change. This change can look like moving stuck energy, harmonizing parts of the body/mind that are clashing, nourishing that which is depleted, or connecting with the more subtle spiritual aspects of the self. I often incorporate cupping and massage after each acupuncture session, leaving clients relaxed and restored.
Integrative herbal medicine
Herbs have the power to change physiology and consciousness. Integrative herbal medicine blends the diagnostic and botanical lineages of the ancient Chinese physicians, modern scientific research on plant chemistry and physiology, and shamanic perspectives on relating to the plant world.
Herbal prescriptions are carefully created are to meet the goals and underlying constitution of each patient. The plants that are selected come from all over the world, including plants local to the Sierra Nevada and are always highest quality available. Herbs can be taken in a variety of forms to best fit lifestyle demands and are prescribed along holistic lifestyle recommendations.
Holistic counseling and Integration
Holistic counseling is an opportunity to look at different aspects of your life with depth and compassion. By exploring aspects like nourishment, daily routines, and the meaning made from experiences, we can start to see how all of these facets work together to impact on our sense of vitality and how we show up in the world. I will support you by helping you recognize signs of imbalance, give you tools on how to rectify these, and be a guide along the journey.
Integration sessions an opportunity to reflect on powerful experiences and be held in your process. By weaving somatic counseling techniques and holistic care practices, we can ground these transpersonal moments and insights into a rich everyday life.
We offer a discount for all patients paying for acupuncture services in cash. $120 for returning patients and $180 for new patients.
Home visits
Our clinic space is located on the second floor of an old building with no elevator. For those with mobility difficulty that can’t walk up a flight of stairs, we offer home visits within a 10 mile radius of our clinic at the same rate as our office visits.
For those with no difficulty with stairs but are interested in a home visit, we also offer acupuncture treatments in the comfort of your home. This applies to homes within a 10 mile radius of our clinic in Tahoe City. Please contact us directly for pricing.
